There is a wall of large screens above the bar at Sweets of NY, and they are lit from the moment the room opens at 3 PM. That is the whole point of the afternoon here: you are watching on a wall instead of on a phone, in a room with a full bar and somewhere to sit, on Sutphin Blvd in Jamaica, Queens.

Three in the afternoon is early for this kind of room. Most clubs within a few miles of here do not open until 8 PM or later, so an afternoon game in Jamaica usually means a sports bar or your own sofa. Sweets is open the whole time, straight through to 4 AM. The bar, and the table

It is a full bar. Bottle service comes to the table if you want the table set up properly rather than standing at the rail — champagne, cognac and whiskey, vodka, tequila and rum, by category. No prices are published on this website, for the bar or for a table; ask the house when you call or when you send a request and you get a straight answer from a person.

The room has stools along the bar, tables, and a stage. It is one room, not a building: what you see when you walk in at 4 PM is what is there at midnight, with the lights turned around.

Then the room turns over

Sweets of NY is a strip club — a gentlemen's club with topless entertainment by exotic dancers — so the afternoon and the night are two halves of one evening. The game finishes, the stage lights come up, and the same table you took at 4 PM is the table you keep. Birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties and album or single release parties are all taken here, and they are all easier to arrange when you start early.

Getting to Sutphin Blvd

The club is at 94-02 Sutphin Blvd, a short walk from the Sutphin Blvd–Archer Av–JFK Airport station, which is one of the busiest interchanges in Queens.

• Subway: the E, J and Z lines to Sutphin Blvd–Archer Av–JFK Airport.
• Rail: the Long Island Rail Road to Jamaica Station, the same interchange.
• Airport: the JFK AirTrain connects at that same station.
• Valet is available out front.
• Uber and Lyft drop off at the door.

Send a request from the home page with the date, how many people are coming and an arrival time — the arrival times start at 3:00 PM, so an afternoon slot is on the list like any other. Entry is 21 and over with valid government ID — no ID, no entry. Dress to impress; the house sets the code at the door, and management reserves the right of admission.
